Everyone at CobWebKnits wants to thank you for taking care of our little hats and
helping them to have a good time and to stay safe. We’re looking forward to seeing
them on their return and hearing about their summer of sight-
FAQs
Won’t it cost me a lot to post it on?
Not necessarily. You can pass it on to someone else locally. Or you can help it cover a large distance without costing you a penny by being inventive.
Pass it on to a friend with a baby or give it to a friend you know is going to be visiting a friend with a baby very soon. Even better if that friend lives abroad.
Be sure that whoever you hand it on to is enthusiastic about helping our hats and feels confident they can, in turn, pass the hat on to someone equally willing to get involved.
Give it to someone going on a holiday with a baby. Ask them to take the hat with them and take a photo. They can either bring it back to continue its journey locally or give it to a new friend they make on holiday with a baby whilst they’re sitting round the paddling pool! Just make sure you get their name, email and town as you need their details too in order to enter the competition.
Give it to a friend who travels a lot. Do you know a pilot, cabin crew or sales rep? Could they take it for you? An air steward might find a child at the airport and pass it on that way or give it to a family on the flight or at Arrivals.
Give it to someone who works for a courier company! Fed Ex (and all other reputable companies working in the industry) will get it there tomorrow!
How can I be sure I’ve got everything I need to enter?
Before you hand over a hat, be sure to get the email address, town and state (province or county) of the person helping it on its way. We want to be able to track down any hat that might go missing and this will help us enormously. The recipient’s name, email and town are all needed to complete the entry form. Once you have submitted your entry you should be redirected to a page confirming your entry and allowing you to either continue shopping or track our intrepid hats’ progress.
How do I take a great photo?
These 3 easy steps to taking winning baby photo competition pictures might help and you can find lots of help online too:
Take lots of photos: Digital cameras are simply fantastic. You can take unlimited pictures, choose your favourite and upload it easily to the website via our entry form.
Keep it simple: There is absolutely no doubt about it, babies are cute. So simple
backgrounds usually work the best. But in this case we do also want the background
to tell the story – it may help the winning photo. Don’t endanger the life of any
models but do try to take something original. Lots of local colour and historic
landmarks will add to your photo. We’d love to see famous or unusual landmarks,
stunning scenery or people having fun together. How about a cream tea in Devon,
haggis in Scotland or curry in Thailand? If you’re near the Eiffel Tower, Grand
Canyon, or Taj Mahal that’s wonderful, but we’re just as happy with a local duck
pond, play-
Don’t underestimate the value of a silly picture: It’s often the silly pictures that
win. People love to see babies doing the things that babies do best, being silly,
cute & messy. And of course the location will help with this each time. There’s
lots of advice on the internet. Here’s a page with lots of links and tips: http://bestbabyphotocontests.com/3-
Are they other ways of getting involved?
Of course. The purpose of this trip is to give our hats an adventure they won’t forget, so if you have any stories about your time with any of them that you’d like to share we’d love to hear from you. We’ve got an interactive blog you can contribute to, so as well as sending us your photos you can post something direct to the website and fill us in on what’s been going on.
Why not send us a postcard on their behalf? Archie, Billy, Betty, Kiri, Pete or
Sophie might want to send us a postcard so if you’re happy to send one on their behalf,
we’d love to pin them on our noticeboard in the office and on-
